Science
Middle School Zoology
Grades 7-9
Teacher: TBA
Description:
This class is designed for grades 7-8 with some advanced 6th graders. An Introduction to the study of animals and invertebrates. Detailed vocabulary and classifications will challenge your student as we learn about God’s creation. Labs and dissections will give a hands-on approach to learning and practical application for our studies. Biomimicry studies how we have been inspired by God’s creation to use imitators of His design for our purposes. For example, a natural sponge versus a synthetic sponge.
Expectations:
In addition to the two days of face-to-face classes, students are expected to work at least two more days under the supervision of the homeschool teacher. Students will need to read and answer the Summary questions for each unit. Labs are scheduled, and take-home tests will be administered. Students will also have end-of-the-unit projects or reports that will count for a quiz grade and are to be created at home and presented in class.
