Secondary Academy Director

Are you passionate about Christian education and leadership? HomeRun Ministries is seeking a part-time Secondary Academy Director to oversee and guide our 6th–12th grade academic program. Rooted in Proverbs 3:5, we’re looking for a leader who relies on God’s direction, serves with excellence, and supports students, families, and teachers with integrity and care.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning yearly and semester course schedules

  • Managing registration and communicating with families

  • Overseeing budgeting, calendars, and building use

  • Hiring, training, and mentoring academic teachers

  • Leading professional development and conducting classroom observations

  • Organizing Writing Boot Camp and Iowa Assessments

  • Supporting teachers with curriculum, grading, and parent communication

  • Coordinating substitute coverage and maintaining student/teacher files

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and teaching experience

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Approx. 20 hours/week, with in-office hours on Mondays & Wednesdays

Secondary Academy Middle School Science Teacher
Class: Zoology - 8th Grade

Are you passionate about science and inspiring the next generation? HomeRun Ministries is seeking a part-time Middle School Science Teacher to lead our 8th-grade Zoology class. This is a unique opportunity to share your love of animals and biology while making a difference in the lives of homeschool students in a Christ-centered environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Teach a hands-on, engaging Zoology course to 8th-grade students

  • Prepare lesson plans, labs, and classroom activities

  • Foster curiosity and a love for science through a Biblical worldview

  • Communicate with students and parents about progress and expectations

  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff as needed

Class: Physical Science - 9th Grade

Do you love teaching science and helping high school students build a strong foundation in how the world works? HomeRun Ministries is looking for a part-time High School Science Teacher to teach Physical Science to 9th-grade students. This course introduces key concepts in physics and chemistry through hands-on learning and a Biblical worldview.

What You’ll Do:

  • Teach 9th-grade Physical Science in a classroom setting

  • Develop lessons, labs, and activities that make science come alive
