Home Run Ministries Statement of Faith
Statement of Faith
Home Run Ministries is a Christian organization that subscribes to the basic tenets of Biblical Christianity. The following statements are Home Run Ministries' belief positions and the basis for its operations and teachings.
• The Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, inerrant, infallible, and final authoritative Word of God.
• There is only one God, eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God the Son was revealed in the person of Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man in the flesh, except without sin. God the Holy Spirit indwells and seals any person who accepts Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death as the only payment for their sin.
• Man was created in the image and likeness of God, but through Adam’s sin all men fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God’s righteousness and holy character. Man is now under God’s wrath and condemnation, totally depraved, and of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition.
• To redeem man from his lost condition, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty of man’s sin through His substitutionary death on the cross. Through His subsequent visible, bodily resurrection, Jesus Christ has made the way for man to be reconciled with God the Father. Jesus Christ offers this free gift of salvation to man. It must be accepted individually in faith alone, not trusting in any personal acts or works but in His death and resurrection only.
• Every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31), including those who do not share our beliefs.
• God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ (Acts 3:19 – 21; Rom. 10: 9-10; 1 Cor. 6: 9 – 11).
Statement of Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality
Our views on marriage, gender, and sexuality derive from our commitment to God (Dt. 6:5; Matt. 22: 3738) and to His Word (2 Tim. 3:16–17; Dt. 32:45–47; Matt. 4:4) as expressed in our Statement of Faith and therefore affirm the following:
• God wonderfully, immutably, and purposefully has created each person (Psalm 139:14.) The complementary, relational nature of the human race as “male and female” reflects the created order given by God when He created human beings “in His image” (Gen. 1:26-27; 5:1; 3:9; 6:1; Cor. 11:7; James 3:9; Romans 8:29; 2 Cor. 3:18; Eph. 4:23- 24; Col. 3:10.) It is with joy in our finitude that we are to receive the gift of being created as sexual beings in accordance with God’s creative design. To reject one’s biological sex of male or female is to rebel against God’s creative design.
• God’s design for marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture (Genesis 2:18-25). We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Cor. 6:18, 7:2-5; Heb. 13:4.) To join in any sexual union other than an exclusive, monogamous, heterosexual marriage is to rebel against God’s design for marriage.
• Any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God (Matt. 15:18-20; 1 Cor. 6:9-10.)
