Middle School World History

Description:
This course covers world history from the Renaissance through modern times. Students will learn about the events, the influential people and the conflicts of countries around the world, as well as the growth of the Christian church and missionaries who brought the gospel around the world.
Class time will include rich discussions, maps, a timeline of events, videos, and hands-on activities to make history come alive and help students to connect with history in a personal way.
Expectations: In addition to the two days of face-to-face classes, students are expected to work at least two more days under the supervision of the homeschool teacher. Each week, students will be expected to complete the homework listed in the syllabus, which includes reading 2 lessons and completing assigned pages in the student workbook. They should come to class ready to discuss what they read at home. There will be one project to present to class at the end of the year. Homework should require at most 2.5 hours per week.

• 6th-grade reading level.
