This dynamic Fall semester course offers a comprehensive exploration of Government through the lens of Christian values and principles. Students will delve into the historical and scriptural foundations of our Constitutional Republic, examining its principles and workings. With critical thinking at the forefront, this course equips students to understand their role in preserving and shaping our nation's future.
This course is more than just academics—it's a calling to develop future leaders with the knowledge, discernment, and conviction to make an impact. Your child will leave with a deeper understanding of how faith intersects with these critical subjects, empowering them to think critically and lead with purpose.
Expectations:
In addition to the two days of face-to-face classes, students are expected to work at least two more days under the supervision of the homeschool teacher. Regular assignments require 1-2 hours per class period.
Prerequisites:
• Upper high school reading level.
• Capable of organizing notes and thoughts from class lectures and expressing these ideas on tests and assignments.
Required Textbooks:
• American Government, 3rd ed., Abeka# 89281
Supplies Needed:
• 3-ring binder
• Loose leaf notebook paper for class notes
• Spiral notebooks are fine for note taking but not for homework.
• Pens
• Pencils
• Computer with Internet access at home
• CLASS PROJECTS will require additional supplies – to be determined largely by the student
