Description:
This class covers the concepts of plane geometry—parallel and intersecting lines, triangles, quadrilaterals, and circles. This class emphasizes critical thinking and involves proofs. Honor-level assignments will include problems integrated with algebra concepts consistent with preparation for Algebra 2 and the type of geometry problems that appear on the SAT. This is an extended class covering 3 hours per week.
Expectations:
In addition to the two days of face-to-face classes, students are expected to work at least two more days under the supervision of the homeschool teacher. The homework assigned for every class period should take 1-2 hours. There will be weekly quizzes and tests every 5-10 lessons.
Prerequisites:
• Completed Algebra 1.
• New students will be required to participate in a math interview.
