Description:
This course is designed to inspire a deeper understanding of God’s magnificent creation. This engaging class equips students with foundational knowledge of landforms, oceans, climate, and mountain formation while addressing evolution vs. creation to help them explore the wonders of our world through the lens of faith. Through exciting project-based activities, current event videos, and even sampling foods from around the globe, students will travel across continents and cultures—without ever leaving the classroom. This hands-on approach encourages critical thinking and sparks curiosity, creating a vibrant learning environment. This course provides students with a faith-filled perspective on geography while equipping them with tools to connect with the beauty and complexity of God’s creation

Expectations:
In addition to the two days of face-to-face classes, students are expected to work at least two more days under the supervision of the homeschool teacher. Daily reading assignments and homework averaging 1 hour per class period. A country project each grading period will consist of a presentation and food from the chosen country. Maps and quizzes conclude each continent.

Prerequisites:
• High school reading level.

Required Textbooks:
• Around the World in 180 Days, Student Workbook by Sherry Payne—ISBN 9781935495581
• Supplemental Workbook created by teacher. HRM will print all materials and a $15 printing fee will be included on the invoice.

Supplies Needed:
• 3-ring binder
• Folders to go in binder to hold handouts
• Colored pencils (12-24 pack)
• Markers
• The ability to prepare and bring recipes/food items on occasion
• Suggested items to purchase and keep at home are a World Atlas and a globe
