Class Description:
Fundamentals of English introduces students to the essential skills of composition, literature, grammar, and vocabulary development. This course strengthens foundational writing abilities through structured practice in sentence construction, paragraph development, and clear written expression. Students will read and analyze a variety of literary selections to build comprehension, interpretive skills, and an appreciation for different genres.
Grammar instruction focuses on core conventions that support effective communication, while vocabulary study equips students with the language needed for academic success. Through guided practice, discussion, and targeted skill-building activities, students gain confidence in their ability to read critically and write with clarity and purpose.
Fundamentals of English prepares students for more advanced English coursework by establishing the building blocks necessary for strong literacy and communication skills.
