Description:
Study of the foundation of atomic structure, bonding, chemical reactions, stoichiometry, nomenclature, kinetic theory, solutions, acids and bases, chemical equilibrium, organic and biochemistry, and nuclear chemistry. This is an extended class meeting for 3 hours per week.
Expectations:
In addition to the two days of face-to-face classes, students are expected to work at least two more days under the supervision of the homeschool teacher. Take-home tests will be sent periodically. Homework, due the next class period, should take at most 1 hour for Monday homework and 1-2 hours for Wednesday homework.
Prerequisites:
• Completed Physical Science or the equivalent.
• Algebra 1 preferred or at a minimum, a strong understanding of proportions and how to manipulate them.
• 14+ years of age suggested.

Supplies Needed:
• 3-ring binder
• Notebook paper
• Highlighters, Pens, Pencils
• Any basic calculator that can do exponents and square roots, such as Texas Instruments TI-30XIIS Scientific Calculator
• $45 High School lab fee
