Biology

High School

Year Round Course

Teacher: Jennifer Paolillo

Class Description –
Biology is an in depth study of living organisms and the processes that sustain life. Students explore cellular biology, genetics, taxonomy, microbiology, botany, zoology, and human anatomy through engaging lessons, hand son investigations, and guided scientific inquiry. The course also examines biological concepts through a creationist perspective, emphasizing the design, order, and complexity found in living systems.

Students develop strong scientific reasoning skills as they analyze data, conduct laboratory experiments, and learn to communicate their findings clearly and accurately. Emphasis is placed on understanding the structure and function of cells, the principles of heredity, the diversity of life, and the interconnectedness of biological systems.

This is an extended course that meets for three hours per week to allow for deeper instruction, laboratory work, and meaningful exploration of biological concepts.
