Algebra 2

Grades 9-12

Description:
Algebra 2 is a college-preparatory class where students will learn basic algebra, equation & inequalities, polynomial equations & inequalities, functions & the cartesian plane, systems of equations & inequalities, matrices, exponential & logarithmic functions, triangle & basic trigonometry, sequences & series, probability, and statistics. This is an extended class covering 3 hours per week.

Expectations:
In addition to the two days of face-to-face classes, students are expected to work at least two more days under the supervision of the homeschool teacher. Homework is assigned every class period. Time on homework varies due to student ability. 2-4 take home tests are given per grading period.

Prerequisites:
• Algebra 1.
• New students will be required to participate in a math interview.

• Algebra 2 Test & Quiz booklet. 2024. Abeka. #197742 (To be submitted to the teacher at orientation)

Supplies Needed:
• 3-ring binder
• 5 dividers for binder
• College ruled notebook paper
• Pencils
• Highlighters
• Graph paper
• Ruler or straight edge
• Graphing calculator (TI-84 or higher)
