This class introduces students to the world of Pokémon Video Game Championships (VGC) battling in a fun, structured, and beginner-friendly way—no prior experience required.
Students will learn how to play Pokémon as a strategy game, focusing on teamwork, planning, and decision-making. Using the official competitive format (known as VGC), students will explore how to build teams, understand battle mechanics, and develop strategies to outthink their opponents.
REQUIREMENTS:
● Students must bring their own Nintendo Switch (Switch 1 or Switch 2)
● Basic reading and arithmetic skills are required
● Nintendo Switches must have "Pokemon Champions" Downloaded from the
e- shop. (It is a free game.)

Students will learn:
● The basics of Pokémon battles (types, moves, and turns)
● How competitive Pokémon differs from the main story games
● Team-building fundamentals and strategy
● How to think critically and make decisions under pressure
● Sportsmanship and good competitive habit
