Year Round Course

Renee Gobea

Class Description: Physics is the study of the fundamental laws that govern matter, energy, motion, and the forces shaping our universe. In this year-long course, students build a strong conceptual and mathematical foundation through engaging lessons, demonstrations, and hands-on laboratory investigations. Topics include kinematics, dynamics, energy, momentum, waves, electricity, magnetism, and introductory modern physics. Students learn to model real-world phenomena using algebra-based problem solving, data analysis, and scientific reasoning. Laboratory work emphasizes accurate measurement, experimental design, and clear communication of results. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the analytical skills and scientific habits of mind needed for success in advanced science courses.

Prerequisites: Algebra 1
