Description:
Students will solve first- and second-degree equations, which include fractions, decimals, radicals, and absolute value expressions. They will solve word problems, graph two-variable equations, and graph inequalities. This is an extended class covering 3 hours per week.
Expectations:
In addition to the two days of face-to-face classes, students are expected to work at least two more days under the supervision of the homeschool teacher. Students will be assigned practice problems for 1-2 sections covered during every class period. Homework due the next class meeting should average 1-2 hours for average students. Take-home tests will be given at the end of each chapter, plus comprehensive final exams for each semester.
Prerequisites:
• Completed Pre-Algebra or the equivalent
• New students will be required to participate in a math interview.

• 3-ring binder
• 3 dividers for binder
• Notebook paper
• Pencils, highlighters, colored grading pen
• Glue stick
