Class Description: 

Semester 1
Argumentation and Logic
Have an opinion?  Have data to support it?  Have language to deliver it?  This semester will focus on the skills of argumentation and persuasion.  Students will learn to analyze source reliability, support their opinions, and speak and write persuasively.  Reading the Screwtape Letters, students will identify fallacies and manipulative language and respond accordingly.   

Semester 2
Workplace Communication
How do I say, "This is not my job" professionally?  This semester will focus on professional writing, oral and visual presentations, and phrasing ideas in a professionally appropriate way.  Students will create a series of real-life writing projects, including: emails, resumes, slide shows, speeches, slogans, PSAs, instructional and procedural documents, and more. 

Prerequisites:
Two years of High School level English
