Description:
In this one-semester fall course, discover how different body systems function and work together to maintain health. Learn about nutrition and how foods fuel the body. Assemble a first aid kit and create emergency plans. Grow and develop the tools for healthy interpersonal relationships and confidence in handling peer pressures. Build upon the skills needed to honor God by making a lifetime of healthy choices. Weekly classes will be reinforced with scripture and hands-on activities.
Expectations:
In addition to the two days of face-to-face classes, students are expected to work at least two more days under the supervision of the homeschool teacher. This course will be divided into four sections: Exercise, Nutrition, Personal Health, Environmental Health and Safety. Each component will conclude with a comprehensive exam. Homework will include a project requiring research and preparation.
Prerequisites:
• 6th-grade reading level.
• Able to write a short report.

• God’s Design for Life: The Human Body, 4th ed., by Debbie and Richard Lawrence, Answers in Genesis. Do Not Buy-Out of Print. HRM will rent used copies of the textbook for a $10 rental fee included on the invoice.

• 3-ring binder—2”
• 5-tab dividers
• Spiral notebook
• Pen or pencil with eraser
• (2) yellow highlighters
• Scissors
• Glue stick
