Exploring Science through Weekly Science Labs—
Students will be using the Real Science-4-Kids Biology Level 1 Textbook and Laboratory Workbook to introduce essential terms and concepts of biology. “Hands on” discovery and critical thinking skills will be encouraged through experiments and observation. Each lesson will involve an activity designed to take the student through the process of making observations and interpreting data while reinforcing the vocabulary and concepts learned in the lesson. Minimal reading and review of scientific terms covered in class will be assigned each week.
Each of these classes will be continued in the spring.Students taking multiple writing classes only need one binder, but they will need at least two dividers per class.
Creative Writing teaching IEW Stylistic Techniques—Students (grades 4-12) will begin a new story in each class and finish it at home with the option of reading (or having the teacher read) it during the next class.

Essay Writing Teaching One- to Five-Paragraph Essays.—Students (grades 4-12) will write an essay in class to be edited at home with the option of reading it or having the teacher read it during the next class. Students will review the IEW stylistic techniques; however, students with no IEW experience are encouraged to take the Creative Writing Workshops instead of, or in addition to, the Essay Writing Workshops.

Literature & Drama 3-Hour Workshops—Students in grades 4-12 will read dramatically G-rated, humorous versions of Shakespearean plays and learn about literary devices, historical contexts, and famous quotes.
